WSAV.com reports on a not uncommon story - an animal shelter being hit by the Canine Parovirus.

You can read the full story here.

This story highlights a number of important facts.

Firstly, although there are two “seasons” for Parvo, spring and fall, this does not mean that your dog won’t get Parvo at any other time of year.

Parvo is especially prevalent in the southern states, with California and Texas being by far the worst hit, but other states, including (but not limited to) Arizona, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia, are all experiencing major outbreaks.

Secondly, this shelter’s practice of wearing different shoes for outdoors and indoors (see the photo in the related news story) is one that is well worth following yourself at home. Even better is to go one step further, as they do, and dip your outdoor shoes in bleach after removing them. (You clearly shouldn’t dip your indoor shoes in bleach as you don’t want this toxic chemical getting on your carpets and furniture.)

But perhaps most importantly, even though this is a no-kill shelter, which we fully support, this story does highlight that there are occasions when even they have to succumb and put a dog down.

However, our message to shelters such as this is that there is a cost-effective alternative.

Although the products contained in our (i.e. , and ) are typically used to treat dogs that have Parvo, they can also be used as a preventative. What we mean is that, if a dog has been exposed to the virus but is not yet showing any of the classic symptoms (e.g. yellow, frothy vomit, foul-smelling diarrhea that may be very bloody, lethargy, depression, dehydration, lack of playfulness), then these products can stop full-blown Parvo developing in close to 100% of cases.

We have built a unique tool, for establishments such as shelters, called our that allows you to enter the amount of budget you have available for our Parvo products, and it will instantly recommend a combination of packages that will use that budget most effectively. It will even give you an indication of how many dogs you would be able to treat, whether they have Parvo or not, in different weight bands.

So, why not try out our now - you will be surprised at how many dogs you could give preventative doses to for a relatively low budget!
