A report on the Daily Review Atlas discusses the Canine Parvovirus, talking about the virus itself, vaccination, and a few other issues.

You can read the full story here.

However, you should be aware that the statement “Current medical recommendations state dogs should be subsequently vaccinated one time per year.” is no longer true.

Research has shown that giving a puppy shots at nine weeks, 12 weeks and 16 - 20 weeks, followed by one booster shot 12 months later, is enough to provide protection for at least seven years, and maybe even longer.

So, don’t be conned by your vet when they tell you that your dog needs annual booster shots - it’s not only unnecessary, but other research suggests there is growing evidence that over-vaccination (and this include annual boosters) can actually harm your dog - arthritis and immune system problems are specifically noted.

When it comes to vaccinations, we strongly recommend that you do NOT administer these to your dogs. To find out why we say this, as we accept this goes against the grain, please read our page.

If you suspect your dog has been exposed to the virus (e.g. at a public park), but is not yet showing symptoms, then all is not yet lost. Three of the four products contained in our (i.e. , and ) have a close to 100% success rate in stopping the Parvo dead in its tracks, before it does the same to your dog.

Finally, the vet quoted in this news story is correct in saying that you should do everything you can to boost your dog’s natural immune system.

We therefore recommend:

  • , which is an Ayurvedic product that has many benefits for your dog, including boosting his immune system and promoting a longer and healthier life
  • the use of a that contains only premium ingredients, with the minimum of fillers.

Oh, and by the way, if you want to find out how you could save a fortune in vet’s bills, check out a great book called . It’s an easy read, with plenty of advice that could save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. We have to say that we don’t agree with everything in this book, as not all of the author’s solutions fit in with our chemical-free lifestyle, but we will be doing a full review of this book soon, so look out for this.
