I like natural treatments for dogs (and humans) and my dogs are not vaccinated, although I’m afraid to tell most people that.

as a dog lover i have had several dogs who have been taken by parvo. not only does it stay dormant in the ground for a long while but it will show up out of the blue. i have lived in several different places ut had to deal with a case of parvo at nearly every one.... just bad luck i guess. i am also a former police k-9 handler but in addission to the home readey on this site i also now that if you catch it early enough you can give your pup pepto bis. and this will coat the stomach so the pup does not loose and the fluid through dehidration. it will help until you can get what you need to treat your pup.

My brother and sister-in-law recently got a puppy from an animal shelter. It was sick when they got it. It had not had any shots yet but tested positive for parvo, ended up in an animal hospital for about a week and almost died. It's better now and eating well. I think it's about 9 weeks old. I don't know if the parvo was the new strain or not.
