1. Sensory adaptation - a decrease in sensitivity during continued stimulation.
2. Mechanoreceptors - are stimulated by physical means such as touch, pressure, motion, or stretching.
3. Thermoreceptors - are temperature sensitive.
4. Chemoreceptors - include chemical sensitivities like smell and taste.
5. Electromagnetic receptors - include sensitivities to light, including light humans cannot see, as well as things like electric and magnetic fields. Many animals can see colors of light humans cannot (infrared, ultraviolet). Some animals, like whales, can sense "gravity", variations in the Earth’s magnetic field, using it for navigation.

When nerve damage occurs these senses can be affected.

Digestive System

The digestive system comprises the stomach, esophagus, salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, intestines. It stores and digests foods, transfers nutrients to the body, eliminates waste and absorbs water. Digestive processes provide the building blocks for some neurotransmitters. The autonomic nervous system controls the tone of the digestive tract. The brain controls drinking and feeding behavior, and it also controls muscles for eating and elimination. The digestive system sends sensory information to the brain.

Endocrine System

The endocrine system comprises the pineal body, pituitary gland, hypothalamus, thyroid, parathyroid, heart, adrenal gland, kidney, pancreas, stomach, intestines and ovary. It secretes hormones into the blood and other body fluids. These chemicals are important for metabolism, growth, water, mineral balance, and the response to stress. Hormones provide feedback to the brain to affect neural processing. Reproductive hormones affect the development of the nervous system. Integumentary System

3. Nerves control muscles connected to hair follicles.

Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system comprises the adenoid, tonsils, thymus, lymph nodes and spleen. It protects the body from infection. The brain can stimulate defense mechanisms against infection.

Muscular System

• Lemon Balm - This is an anti-thyroid, antispasmodic, carminative and antiviral. It aids in nervous tension and insomnia, and is used to treat colds, fevers and coughs. Based on research, the German Commission E recognizes lemon balm for treating nervous disturbances of sleep and functional gastrointestinal disorders. Lemon balm can also be used against mental fatigue, poor memory, chronic fatigue syndrome, and thyroid disorders. Lemon balm extract also has strong antimicrobial properties against viral, bacterial and fungal infections and can be used both internally and externally. Studies show that lemon balm extract is effective against herpes simplex, Newcastle disease and other viruses.
• Nettle - This is a diuretic, anti-allergenic, astringent, tonic and can help with prostate health and breast milk production. It has an important effect on the kidney and on fluid and uric acid excretion, is of benefit in gout and other arthritic conditions, particularly if there is an element of anemia. Other clinical trials have reported improvements in urinary flow, and a reduction of urinary frequency and nocturnal and residual urine after six months treatment.
• Skullcap - This is a nerve tonic, sedative and antispasmodic. It relaxes states of nervous tension and has a specific use in the treatment of seizure and hysterical states. It is useful in insomnia and nervous headaches. Its bitter taste is also strengthening and stimulating to the digestive system.
• Wood Betony - This is a digestive, sedative and astringent, and has pain relieving properties. It helps treat nervous debility associated with anxiety and tension and neuralgia when of nervous origin, especially those caused by hypertension.
• Yohimbe - This is an aphrodisiac and stimulant. Yohimbe aids in an increase in dilation of blood vessels, helping lower blood pressure. Yohimbe may also reduce depression and anxiety and aid in weight loss by suppressing the body's ability to store fat.
• Alcohol - To bring out the properties in the herbs and preserve the tincture.
• Distilled Water

How Long Will It Last?

One 1 ounce bottle of Derma NERV will treat up to 18 pets, depending on their weight.

Caution

1. It is important that you follow the dosing guidelines exactly as written.
2. You must not exceed the daily recommended dose. As with any medication, overdose of this product can cause serious illness, including irritability, change in consciousness, stupor, coma, or death.
3. Derma NERV should only be used to treat specific ailments and conditions. It is NOT advisable to use Derma NERV as a preventative.
4. Keep out of reach of children under 16 years of age.
5. Use of Derma NERV is contraindicated with concurrent administration of thyroid medication due to the known ability of the lemon balm to block some of the activity of the thyroid hormone in the body. (DO NOT USE in conjunction with TYD™ or any thyroid prescribed medication.)
6. Use of Derma NERV necessitates veterinary health care provider input when treating animals with high blood pressure and/or diabetes mellitus.
7. The Yohimbe component of Derma NERV is known to have an insulin-blocking effect and is, contraindicated in diabetes mellitus due to the insufficient insulin response in that population. Overdose of Derma NERV would further risk this complication.
8. The safety profile for Derma NERV has not been established in pregnant animals and its use should be avoided in those cases.
9. As with any product, your pet may experience an allergic reaction, which may include skin redness, hives, swelling around the eyes, or serious breathing problems due to laryngeal swelling. For any suspicious symptoms, you should stop giving your pet this product immediately and contact your veterinarian.
10. The inflammatory response of your pet is an immune response. Because the ingredients of this product summarily effect an attenuation of the inflammatory response, it is recommended that Derma NERV not be administered concurrently with any product that may additionally effect a dampening of the immune response.
